AFP-Nebraska

Americans for Prosperity-Nebraska is working to create a movement of concerned citizens to unlock freedom and opportunity in our state. We are committed to helping make Nebraska the best place in the country to live, work, and raise a family.

About Us

The Cornhusker Commitment is AFP-Nebraska’s roadmap to make our state the best place in the country to live, work, and raise a family. Our goal is to bring Nebraskans together to create a grassroots movement around these policy priorities to transform our state and local communities.

Take Action

Thank you Governor Pillen

When politicians tried to block educational freedom, Governor Jim Pillen kept pushing forward. Sign our letter to thank him in his efforts to fight for choices for families, control for parents, and opportunities for students.

Thank you Senator Ibach for fighting for accountability!

Senator Teresa Ibach sponsored LB1049 to bring more accountability to Nebraska’s government. Thank Senator Ibach for fighting to make government more accountable to you!

Thank you Senator Riepe

Senator Merv Riepe understands that Nebraskans need access to quality healthcare. Thanks to LB1212, Nebraska will be able to attract more qualified physicians, expand care in shortage areas, reduce wait times, and improve access to health care. Tell Senator Merv Riepe thank you for fighting for Nebraska families.

Thank you Senator Ricketts

Thanks to the leadership of President Trump, Senator Ricketts, and Congress, and the Working Families Tax Cuts are now law – delivering permanent tax relief, securing our border, unleashing American energy, and stopping the largest tax hike in U.S. history.

Protect Nebraska families

Nebraska families need leaders who solve problems, not protect them. John Fredrickson didn’t just vote for higher taxes. He voted for the largest one-year tax increase in Nebraska history with LB34 (2024 special session). Instead of delivering relief, John Fredrickson voted for LB34 stealing $750 million in property tax credits and making the crisis even worse.

Stop environmental power grabs

Senator George Dungan proposed the constitutional amendment LR22CA, which attempted to use vague language to let courts decide major questions about agriculture, energy, water, land use, and economic development. This is the wrong path for Nebraska. Make your voice heard!

Priorities

Grow Nebraska

AFP-Nebraska is committed to promoting policies that cut wasteful government spending and working to lower our tax burden. While progress has been made in the past decade to lower taxes for our Nebraska families, businesses, farmers, and ranchers, we still have a long way to go. Nebraska property taxes remain the 7th highest in the country while our overall tax burden is the 15th highest in the country. We are working to hold public officials accountable to cut spending so that we can lower the tax burden and make our state a place where businesses and families can thrive.

Advance Educational Opportunities for Everyone

Nebraskans want and need more educational options. Passage of a refundable tax credit for education would put more parents in a better position to make the best choices for their children’s education. Nebraska is lagging the country when it comes to giving our families the best opportunities for their kids to learn and grow. It’s time we step up and work together to pass more educational options so we can invest in future generations of students.

Create More Health Care Options

Healthcare costs remain too high for too many Nebraskans. Unfortunately, government tape and waste are keeping Nebraska’s healthcare system from reaching its full potential. We are working to break down barriers in healthcare so that hospitals across the state can provide the best care at a lower cost.

Protect Our Freedoms

We believe that every individual deserves to live in a society where their rights and freedoms are protected, and where safety and security are paramount. Through grassroots advocacy and community engagement, we work tirelessly to uphold the principles of limited government, individual liberty, and the rule of law. By empowering citizens to advocate for policies that promote public safety and protect constitutional rights, we aim to create a future where every American can thrive in a society that values freedom, justice, and opportunity for all.
